On Home, choose Text (type or paste), PDF, Scan (camera or photos) or Podcast. Your listening opens in the reader — press Play. The sentence being read is highlighted, and you can tap any sentence to jump to it.

Yes. All voices run on your iPhone, so reading works in airplane mode. An internet connection is only needed to buy or restore Otvika Pro.

The voice models are built into the app so your text never has to leave your device. This makes the download bigger, but means no waiting, no cloud and no data use while listening.

In the reader, tap the voice name under the player. You can preview every voice before choosing. Set a default voice in Settings.

English voices read English. Multilingual voices read many languages, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and more. Chinese is read with a native Chinese voice. Otvika detects the language automatically and switches to a suitable voice if needed.

Names, abbreviations and rare words can be tricky. You can edit the text (⋯ → Edit text) to spell it the way it sounds. Please email us examples — they help us improve pronunciation in updates.

In the reader, tap the speed button (0.5× to 2×) or Timer to stop playback after 10–60 minutes. Playback continues in the background and on the lock screen.

• Use good, even lighting and avoid shadows and glare.
• Hold the phone parallel to the page and fill the frame.
• Make sure the text is in focus and not too small.
• Handwriting may not be recognized reliably.

Yes. Scan with camera captures multiple pages in one go, and Choose photos lets you select up to 10 photos. Pages are read in the order you chose them.

Open the item and tap Edit. Use Format to join broken lines, remove extra spaces, or remove links and page numbers, or use Find and replace. You can also edit from the Library by swiping right.

Scanned PDFs without a text layer are read with on-device text recognition. Password-protected PDFs may not open — remove the password first. Headers and page numbers that repeat on every page are skipped automatically.

Tap Podcast on Home, choose a Host and Guest voice, then add lines and pick who speaks each one. You can also paste a script with lines starting “Host:” and “Guest:” — Otvika splits it for you. Tap Create podcast to listen.

Listening, all voices, scanning, PDFs, editing and Podcast Studio are free. Otvika Pro unlocks saving your listening as an audio file (M4A or WAV) and sharing it to Files, Messages, AirDrop and other apps.

Go to Settings → Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy. Make sure you are online.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the iPhone Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Otvika → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase.

No. Your text, documents, scans and audio are processed and stored only on your iPhone. There are no accounts, ads or analytics. See our Privacy Policy.

Delete items from the Library (swipe left). Deleting the app removes all its data from your device.
